    Hey BC red,

Had a question for you in regards to your windshield. How tall is it and how tall are you? I am 5'11" and i have a Cee Bailey's 11" and it just doesn't cut it. Wanted to see how high and what brand you were running.

I don't know with a K&N air filter and debaffeled stock exhaust and a throttle mod i say it would help quite a bit. If you decide to debaffel your stock exhaust its very easy I can walk you through it heck I will send the tools you need to do it with if you pay shipping it will all fit in a flat rate box from the post office and not cost more than $4.95 let me know if you want to.

I did acquire the original exhaust, seat and visor from original owner. Posts about the V&H pipes claim increase in power. Since the V&H were installed when I purchased the bike I have no personal comparison. Wonder how original exhaust debaffled compares on power?

I had to disassembly and put a gasget in and some high temp sealer I think Im going to order a different kind of gasget material another member ordered. it cost more but is thicker and you leave the orings out then it srinks into all the groves. Im going to remove the thunder gasget and all the sealer first. I think the thunder gasget and new maybe fatter orings would work better with out sealer. Im going to sell my cobraFi2000r and save for the pcv/ign and put the new gasget in and the pcv next and a map from dave to see if that helps better, not to bad now. When I ride with the wife and friends we always ride around 55 to 63 mph. You need to find out if you have a leak first and see if they will fix it under warranty first before you do anything else to it. Read Racenrays post on intake leak also there is alot of info on here I'll let you know about that other kind of gasget.

Brian, did you find and resolve air leaks? Fix as simple as retorque or did it require disassembly and gaskets?
    Thanks

PS read your post about Thunder T/B gasket fix after I began this post. I may try same once I confirm intake leak.
My first forum membership proved to be a good move. This forum is a wealth of info once you learn how to navigate.
    Thanks

The mods wont void warranty kaw just does not want to do warranty work on their bikes unless you find a good dealer that will fight for you. Mods do make the vaquero run cooler Im going to wrap the header pipes when it warms up to reduce heat to the legs at stop and go traffic. I think i will save the money and put the pcv on it and sale the cobraFi2000r its a good unit for the money but you can't get the percise tunning with it. And I want to change to liquid ice for the coolent I have a gallan of it just going to have the shop put it in when they tork the head bearings. Then I will just ride it for miles after miles I think they will last a long time their build well just like every other bike and car it has its tweeks it needs done. Just enjoy you vaquero and don't worry about it unless somrthing goes wrong with it and run syn oil I use mobil 1 20w50 but thats your choice enjoy and ride safe. B Cope

Thanks for the advice Brian. I purchased the extended warranty and am concerned about voiding it with mods. I have a deal made with original owner to purchase original mufflers and seat and am considering going back stock with exhaust. Not sure I would be happy with performance but may be my best course to rid popping and stay in warranty.
