    On those shock bushings, what I did on the metal sleeve that goes over the stud, thru the bushing, I ground it down to where it was 1/32 thicker than the bushing, that way the nut when tight is clamped on the metal sleeve, but the shock has 1/32 of clearance so it doesn't bind.
    I know the shocks they have the bushings, then theres washers that go to the inside and the outside of bushing, and the nut clamps down on them.
    You want that lower bushing to float, without binding, so the swingarm is able to move.
    When the lower stud, with the washers and/or the metal sleeve, you want it to stack up tight, just before tightening down on the bushing....just like on a car....on the rear end....
    If the bushing is too thick, you can use the 4 1/2 grinder with a flap wheel, sand it down. The bushing should be sticking out each side of the metal sleeve a bit thats attached to the bottom of the shock.
    You should have some stud sticking thru, so you can shim it where it needs to be....
