Hey Ray, can I pick your brain? This winter the engine comes out of my 1600 Classic so I can fix 2nd gear. I'll reassemble it with a bunch of Mean Streak parts: heads, 1500 cams, throttle body, gear set (all but 5th, that'll stay as 5th from the Classic). I have V&H pipes, Baron intake, Power Commander, all the smog crap is gone (when I bought it) and, I have a set of VN1700 pistons to go in, probably with Carillo or Stag rods.

The 1700 pistons are much lighter than the 1600 pistons, so I wonder if I need to get the rotor machined to reduce the "flywheel" effect for balance? Or use the lighter pistons with the stock rotorand give up a little throttle response? I want to maintain the smooth character of the Classic, but if a little balancing work keeps the smooth feel but lets it rev up quicker I'll do that. Thanks.

I am thinking of taking my 17700 up in size. However I am having issues finding any literature or even videos of it being done to a Kawasaki engine. Of course there are a million things i can find on Harley engines. I only found 1 on Honda. Has anyone tried this or know if it can be done?

I have some ideas on what I want to do with my 2013 Nomad over the winter. Someone suggested I reach out to.
