sheepskin seat cover

I have a 2008 Nomad with standard seats. Considering purchasing sheepskin seat covers. Any opinions on makes, long hair or sheared? I had a sheepskin rug (long hair) that just rested on top of my 81 Gold Wing. I live here in FL. and seats get hot! Anyone have a custom fit cover?

Welcome to the forum. I'm in Naples, where in Florida are you? Might as well give us a full introduction...

As far as the sheepskin, I've used this off and on, especially in the summer:

Since I got a Mustang seat, it's more off than on.

Welcome to the forum from Crystal River, FL. I have a friend up here with a Wing that has a sheepskin cover that he picked up at Ikia and fitted it to his scoot.

I live in Panama City Beach. Just got back into motorcycling after 15 years without a bike. Two friends have Nomads and I always admired the bikes. Our riding group usually consists of two Nomads and a brand new Harley Ultra Trike. Have you ever been up for "Thunder on the Beach"?

First off. Welcome to the Nad house http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

I myself have a sheep skin from Alaska leather too. Great investment to say the least.

Never been to Thunder on the Beach. Is that in the fall or spring? I think I have football during it.

Can't help you out with the sheepskin query, but...

Welcome from the Great White North.

My sis in law had an Ikia one that her dog chewed on. I took it to see how dying it black would work out.

Bought a think of black dye and turned it black no problem. Now I just wish I had a full size one, not a dog chewed one.

They were only about $20 at Ikia I think.

Diveboatcaptain, welcome to the Nomad Nation from the Grand Canyon State! I know a little bit about a motorcycle seat getting hot. I started using a beaded seat cover for long rides on hot days, and it made a big improvement. Check out www.beadrider.com

DBC,
Welcome to the forum, it's a pleasure to meet you. I've never had one of the covers your talking about, but I know you'll find an answer here.

Welocome! You've come to the right place for all the latest nadformation.

I started using a sheepskin on the advice of a friend and wouldn't be without it now. I actually had an old hospital full length pad I fashioned to fit. But, check Gadgets Site, there's a skin on the cheap meathod there, along with many more great ideas about how to spend your money.

Good luck! http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

Welcome DBC from NW. Georgia. I can't give an opinion on sheepskin, but like CJ, I would recommend the beaded seat covers. As you ride down the road, you can "feel" the cool breeze going under your rump. I have to remove them in the fall because they are too cool to ride on. Mine came from the same place as CJ's, and I've been using them for 3 years now. The wife and I both love'em.
