I use Dyna-Beads, and have had no problems. They say when using Dyna-Beads, before checking the pressure, give it a shot of air before using the gauge to clear the beads out. This is to keep the shrader valve from getting a bead stuck in it. With this, to check your pressure, all you have to do is turn it on, wait a few seconds, then look at it.
I've been using this monitor for 3 or 4 years now and I love not having to get down on the floor to check my pressures. It also will tell you the temperature of the tires too. You can also see the pressures (and temps) rise while the tire warms up from riding.
