Arriving Quickly or Arriving with Style?

As I have read through these various links it seems we are always allowed to hear from the owners of the black Nomads as to how proud they are of having the quickest bikes. I think we would all agree that those of us who are fortunate enough to own the 2006 Dark Green Metallic/Silver Metallic Nomad truly have the bike with the most style. So I guess we have to ask ourselves who has the best bike - the owners of the black Nomad who claim to have the quickest bike or the Green/Silver Nomad owners who have the bike with the most style? A wise man once told me - "That to end the journey the quickest only means you got there in the shortest amount of time - but to end the journey in style means that not only did you finish the journey but you also thoroughly enjoyed it along the way". That is true in just about every area of life. I know most women can relate to that. They do not necessarily want a man that can end the journey the quickest - they are looking for the man that can end the journey with style, if you know what I mean. If you get done riding your great black Nomad first that only means you arrived at the destination the quickest, in the shortest amount of time and usually with the most bugs. But those of us with the Green/Silver Nomad are arriving at the destination with style and have enjoyed the entire journey. I would much rather arrive at the end of the journey in style knowing I have a great looking bike than arrive the quickest with a black Nomad with the most bugs on it because I was running ahead hitting them all first. I receive alot more compliments because of how great my bike looks because of its style rather than how quick I THINK it can go. Arriving the quickest only means that you do not get to enjoy the ride as long as we do. After all why do we have bikes - just to go fast and get there quickly or do we have them so we can enjoy the ride and arrive with style knowing we have the the best looking bike. At my age I am much more concerned at arriving in style than arriving quickly. So as far as I am concerned all you owners of black Nomads can have the quickest bike - I want a bike that looks great that allows me to enjoy the journey knowing that I will be arriving at the end with style. In the end I guess really the most important thing is that we have all decided to ride one of the BEST bikes out there. My Nomad - regardless of color - is the best bike I have ever owned. I hope this helps to put an end to the argument - what is more important - to have the quickest bike or to have a bike with style. Please remember quickest is NOT always best - but style will win out EVERY time.

The absolute best color is the one you own. Of course, I own the Green/Silver.

You guys with the slower Nomads can tell yourselves whatever you need to in order to validate your purchase decision. What you call "style" some of us call "jealousy".

Unless you ride black, you're at the back of the pack!

Honestly I really do appreciate your guy's willingness to run out ahead and get all that fresh bug juice out of the way so I can finish in style and get all the compliments on my great looking bike. If that is jealousy than guilty as charged. I prefer to call it wisdom myself.....

Can't beat black and chrome. All those silvers, golds, titaniums, etc. just hide that shiny chrome.

Black is easy to coordinate riding clothes with also. I had to shop in Australia to find red camo pants to match my bike. LOL
