I'd be interested in a good map for a 2003-FI w/ airkit, V&H baggers.
I just used the one on their website. |

Power Commander
Hi, this is Jan from the Netherlands, I installed a Power Commander on my 2005 Nomad, my bike is equipped with Vance & Hines Dual Baggers and a stock air box. I noticed a remarkable difference. Increased bottom power (lots of extra torque ) and a very stable, nice low idle (it really likes now that Milwaukee product) I think even so that my mileage is a little better
My advise is, invest in a fuel processor even for a complete stock bike, the fuel mixture with the factory settings is in my opinion always too lean. Extra benefit is a deeper and richer sound!! (it sounds like a concert to me ) |

Dragon57,
Not much difference in engines between 03 and 04. I'll see what I have for maps when I get a chance and fire one to you. Jan, Absolutely agree. Since the 2005 is a 1600, do you have the mapping for it that you like? Semper Fi! |

I used the available map for my pipes and intake from the Power Commander site! Downloading and installing is a piece of cake. You can fine tune the system with the three buttons on it! Nomadman (Jan) Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Jan,
I use a lap top and tune each idle setting for optimum. The 2004 I had ran like a scared rabbit but am wondering if anyone else had mappings. Thanks, Semper Fi! |

I have a 2003 with V & H pipes. I've had it installed about 2 years ago. Twice now I've had the same problem. The bike will start skipping, bucking, cutting out and loud backfiring. Some told me it's bad gas. I drianed it refulled it and put additives in it. It's not bad gas. The first time this happened I took it back to the shop that installed it. They said it was a loose connection and fixed it. It ran good for about 8 months now it 's happening again. I have a hard time believing it was a bad coonection. Anybody have any ideas. I have no glue how all this works, but I'd rather work on it myself than let others.

???There's a real good chance a bad connection is the answer. Many shops in order to do a quick install, use clips instead of taking the extra time to make a soldered connection. I used a Dobek Techulision on my 02 and it performed great.
Follow the leads from the Power Comander Module to where they are connected to to the fuel inj. wireing and ck. the connections. If their clipped thats probably your problem. Take them apart and make a soldered conn. Good Luck |
