2010 Nomad - $3000 of MSRP

Got this email today

Rocky Mountain Kawasaki would like to wish everyone a fun and save holiday this weekend. Come see us early as the store will be closing at 2pm this Saturday

We've been doing a ton of permanent mark downs in our parts and accessories department, so there are many great deals to choose from! Special pricing also on our entire bike inventory, including the 2010 Nomad (VN1700CAF) which is $3,000 off! MSRP of $15,199 down to $12,199.

Come down and take a test ride!

Hope to see you in the next few days!

which gets down closer to what a Nomad cost in 2008. New bikes are just to dang expensive anymore. If and when I replace mine it will be for a used one that has low miles.

$12,199 is still way to high for a 2010 Shop around. You can get one for about $2k less than that.

Had them work on my bike when the POG went out (1999 Nomad). Never trust those turds again. Called and said it was done. Took a ride on it and absolutely no power. Left it there, found out they had the timing off 180 degrees. Take it home. Can't get any better than 29 mpg where before this I was getting 40 to 45 mpg consistantly. Called them back, the idiot told me "Well gas mileage is in the wrist." Came back and said, If I was getting 40+ before why couldn't I do it now?????

Kawasaki is giving $1250 cash back on '10 Nomads. If you do really want one you should be able to get a very reasonable price. The MSRP is way too high but a search on Cycletrader gives you a better idea about discounts.

Even with $3,000 off they are probably still making a hefty profit. Bikes are sort of like furniture and don't turn quickly, therefore a higher markup. Furniture is marked up about 50%. Anything that moves slow will always have a higher markup.

I bought my 2011 for 12,900 + TTT. Demographics have a lot to do with pricing. I watch my dealer move plenty of bikes per month. They also sell tons of sport bikes at or close to full MSRP.

They said absolutely nothing other than it was my wrist. One tank was entirely at 65 mph with the throttle lock set and it was still 29 mpg. They said absolutely nothing again.
