Major Mistake
Great day after several days of rain. Nice and warm, no wind, no rain, perfect for a day of prep work for a good day of riding tomorrow. Thought I would start with washing the truck. Got her detailed and just getting ready to pull the Nad out when my daughter pulled in and convinced me to help her wash her van while grandma watched the kids. Got that done and just getting ready to pull Nad out again and my wife (grandma) said I should wash her car since she watched the kids. OK, this old dog has had enough beating and learned his lessons pretty good so grandma's car got washed. Three vehicles washed and too dang tired to do the Nad. Should have washed the Nad first. I guess there is always tomorrow after we ride to Lake Powell and back. 6 hours on the bike in 80 degree weather ought to be a pretty good day. Maybe I'll get her washed Sunday after church. Hope the weather is good enough for the rest of you to be riding. Timing is everything. I should have sent the women shopping or something so I could have had the whole day to spend with my truck, bike and tunes.

Sometimes the best laid plans get washed out
Have a great and safe ride. You're bike will be full of creatures anyway when you get back, and you didn't waste your precious self on washing something that would be not so clean tomorrow..... anyway Have fun! |

Oh yeah, it's going to be in the 80's here this weekend and they are predicting we'll hit 100 for the first time on Tuesday. You bet I'll be out riding this weekend.

I guess I would have convinced the daughter you really needed to go to the store. Oh look, as long as we are here, there is a car wash. :) I would have then used the same excuse and forgot something at the store, taken grandma's car back down to the car wash. :) It really would have been worth the money to spend time with the Nad. You will enjoy the ride tomorrow.
Like CJ, I will be out somewhere this weekend enjoying the riding before it hits 100. Crap the high heat is just coming way too soon.

Good advice for sure. I'm just too anal to get my vehicles washed at a car wash. I own my own gas powered power sprayer with four different settings on it so I can pick the intensity of the spray. I get quite a bit of enjoyment in detailing my ride, cage or bike. It and lawn work is a form of therapy. Riding is just pure fun and reward for doing what has to be done. Thanks for the tips.

I had a very similar day on Tuesday this week, Washed and polished the bike, then my daughter showed up and I washed her car, then seen it had some stains in the paint from something that would not wash off. I took rubbing compound and did the entire car with it, then washed it again, then applied a coat of wax. My arms were sore for 3 days after that work out.

Look at it this way...Those car washes are like money in the bank if you need something...Especially from your wife :)

Perspective: You had the opportunity to show both your wife and daughter that you honor, value, and love them, by washing their cars. That is what real love looks like. (Plus, you have a wife and daughter to serve in this way. That is also a blessing) Then, you still get to ride the bike. That is icing on the cake, isn't it? Benefit for everyone! :)

I'm just hoping that the other 4 daughters don't get wind that dad helped the fifth wash her car. They will feel cheated and come right over for their turn.

If that happens, fake an illness or a groin pull.
