What about those black plastic totes that you can buy, I got one at Home Depot for about $17.00 and it works great on my Argo when Im away hunting.

The chrome box would be nice. I used the Wal-Mart box that's about the same size. It was less than $20 and works great.

I have a black poly box now which in size is what I would really like. The GF needs a heavy coat in freakin july so it's big enough to pack the fluffy stuff. however it covers my plate as i posted in another thread and I really don't feel like pulling my plate on and off all the time.. just want to ride and go. I really like the look of the diamond plate. I guess 24x12x12 still isn't 2 shabby for extra space.. considering I have a tour pak as well. a couple more inches of depth would be perfect. (keep it clean fellas!) Zoom, I might just go that route to get me on the road. I saw one almost identicle. then I guess if i run across a daimond plate one I can just swap em out. the search continues!!

Tell your G/F she has to wear the coat all the way there.
Could you wrap it in a plastic bag and bungee it to the rack on your Tour Pak? Ive done that in the past and it worked out well.

Tony,
I see that the diamond plate one you are looking at is in Mi. maybe contact him for pickup instead of having it shipped.

Yea, I talked to him Joe, can't remember where exactly but it was not worth the 20 bucks or what ever it was to ship it.... Ringhadingh.. Yea, I would tell her that, but the wollop would put an end to my riding season I bet! I have not looked into a rack for my tour pak yet either. really got to concentrate on a new mount for it.. this wompus one I think is 2 small. So that's first on the list!!

We have a company here local that makes them aluminum boxes
for the trucking industries. They will make any size you want. I'm
to understand they have a lot of seconds out back of the building
cheap. the name of the company is RC Industries.
Phone number 1-574-295-6641.

Borto,
Couldn't you just bolt some extension pieces onto your existing rack to support the tour pack? I really use my hitch box a lot. I don't know how a rider can get by without some room to haul junk. I usually keep stuff in my saddle bags and if my hitch box is on, I have extra gas, rain suits, tools, beer or something in it. LOL. If I had a tour pack I would keep something in it too.

Hey zoom.. Yea, i can add some support to the pack.. I don't think she's going anywhere, I would just like to see it supported to the last set of bolts. i haul camera and lenses around in there and it fills it up so i wanted the hitch box for the other stuff when I travel. LOVE me my tour pak. it's priceless not having to bend over into the bags for gloves, glasses GPS ect that you use a lot.. I want to get my grab rails back on, that's my main reason for wanting to change out the wompus. Otherwise I'd make her work. I checked on the site old bones gave me.. don't know if they make boxes that small anymore.. they didn't list em anyways. I'll call tomorrow. If not I'll just go with the 24x12x12. You can still pack a fair amount in that. Hey wait.. Didn't you raise your hitch UP to clear your pipes? how tall is your box, you still have liscense plate clearance!! how much rise was in your hitch again?

My box is 19 1/2" x 14" x 12" high. I did raise the box up on the mount. I raised it as high as it would go without blocking the tag. Mounted on the bike the bottom of the box is about even with the bottom of the fender.

Ive got the same Tour Pak as you Borto, and mine is on a Wompus rack also. It fits mine just fine, but I see you have yours mounted a little further back than I do. You could fix that by getting a peice of 11gauge sheet metal and bolting it between the rack and the box. that would make it considerably stiffer.

yea, my box was used off ebay and came with the rack pre drilled. Honestly, never sitting back there I don't know if it's 2 far back or not.. no one has complained yet I guess. I'll put something back there for the summer since I'm not 2 motivated during riding season to fab up a rack.

Why not move the Pak forward a couple inches, then it will be mounted more stable. Its just a matter of drilling 3 or 4 hole in the rack.
