Main fuse blown? UPDATE...need further input

Went to start the bike this morning. Put the key in, turned it, heard the "whir" of the fuel injection system, dash lights came on, hit the start button and everything just died. I didn't have time to check anything, so I turned the key off and got in the cage to come to work instead. I had the bike on a trickle charger last night because it was getting down to 30 degrees, and the battery just won't do enough at that temp. I did disconnect it before I tried to start it. I've done this for over two years on this battery and have never had an issue.
If this is a main fuse issue, where is the main fuse? I'll check all fuses in the box this afternoon too. It looks like I just blew a fuse, and I'm hoping someone here has experienced something like this before, and can offer some help.
Thanks...

Checking the main fuse is logical, but I'd check the battery first to make certain it didn't die. Hasn't happened on my bike, but I had one completely fail on a car. I say get your volt meter out and check the battery before trying anything more difficult.

Could be something as simple as a bad battery cable connection. Good luck! :)

You didn't state what year your Nomad is or whether or not it's the original battery.

The main fuse (30 amp) is in the battery compartment. It's not going to blow the fuse unless there's a dead short. As others have stated, check the easiest and most obvious first, before entering panic mode.

It's a 2003 Nomad FI. I replaced the battery two years ago. I'll check the real obvious stuff later today. I've just never experienced this on any bike. Power one second, then hit the start button and everything goes completely dead. This is a new one on me......and I hate chasing sparks.

Check that you didn't accidently flip the kill switch.

okay. Put the meter on the battery, it read 12 volts. Turned the ignition switch on, the meter dropped to zero. So there's no power to run anything once the ignition switch is turned on. I'm guessing my battery needs to be replaced now.

More than likely one or more of the cells in the battery shorted out. I had this happen on my garden tractor. It started fine and I started mowing my front yard and all of a sudden the electric pto disengaged. I shut the motor down and then it wouldn't start and the headlights wouldn't come on. Checked all of the fuses and all were good. Turns out that the battery shorted out.

I checked my main fuse(which is well hidden BTW), and all other fuses.....even my spares. LOL. All were good. My new battery will be ready tomorrow, at a whopping $135. Wow. For that price I should free stock too.

Okay, new battery is in and she fired right up. Problem solved. I also checked my charging system and it was 14 volts so I'm guessing it's still healthy.
Thanks all...

I'm curious. If you just replaced the battery two years ago, what brand did you buy?

Wow, I would have thought a Yuasa would last longer than 2 years.
