Vaquero Trunk

Trying to add a trunk to my 2017, 1700 Vulcan Vaquero, and am finding this to be harder than i expected. Was wanting a place to start with acquiring a trunk that will fit, color is a whole different set op problems. The bike itself is Cardinal Candy Red. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you looked at mounting a Wompus rack and then mounting a trunk to that ?

I just got a cheap universal trunk from amazon, with a wrap around backrest, and attached it to a wompus rack for the vaquero. Needed to remove all the KQR backrest stuff, but it looks good. The trunk I purchased was candy apple red, needed to have it painted as my bike is the candy plasma blue one. It looks good. I'd have pictures, but I'm not incredibly computer savvy, and currently don't know how to reduce the quality of the pictures on my phone to upload to this site sorry.

I put a wompus rack and a Mustang Seats Trunk on mine. Mustang Seats doesnt make the trunk anymore though. I think the only option is a harley style trunk but it seems a decent quality one starts at about $600 which is what I paid for the Mustang Trunk.

I bought a Harley Road Glide style trunk on ebay, with the backrest, for less than $300. It is plenty good enough for my Classic, and the lines look good with the Vaquero/Nomad style bags.

Wompus rack, has a better profile look than using a KQR rack. Lower on the bike. Sorry but it is all I know on the subject.

Wompus rack is the cheapest and best way to go. IMO Unless you luck out and find one close in colour you will be getting it painted. As a far as I know there wasn't a tourpack from the factory made specifically for the Vaquero. I mounted my Voyageur tour pack on a custom world rack that came on my bike and it looks great and low profile. I never painted mine to match as I only use it for trips and then take it off. I do like the Voyageur trunk better than some of the knock offs. Good luck with your search
