Nomad Cam Chain extenders?
Has anybody around the Winston-Salem, NC area installed the cam chain extenders? I have them "just in case" and there seems to be no general agreement as to if they are really needed. 31K on my 06 Nomad now and I want to put another 8-9K on this year. I do keep everything in the book up to date with maintenance.

I think there IS a general agreement that the extenders ARE needed. You just need to inspect them prior to install. If your current adjusters still have some life left, then reinstall. If you are maxed-out... install the extenders. I would figure at 30,000+ miles, you're pretty close.

Nomad Cam Chain extenders?
Delivery58 explained it very well, without checking YOUR bike you won't know. They are all different, I installed mine around 53,000 miles, And I checked the tensioners a couple times a season for three years until I required them. Its not a big deal to keep your eye on them once in a while.
