First ride of the season

I finally got out on the bike for the first time this year. Its been in storage since mid October. The Spring has been very wet and cool here in Ontario.

A couple of observations after not riding for 7 months.

It felt like I was riding the bike sat in the cab of a semi, I was so high up compared to the car.

The bike also seems to be using a lot more gas than last year. Either that or the gas gauge is falling at a faster rate.
After I got home I tweaked the TFI a bit and lowered the settings on pot #1 and #2 following the tuning instructions from forum members. I went out again and got 65 kms before the first bar on the gas gauge went out. Better than the first tank.

The new cam chain tensioner extenders have quietened down the engine quite a bit. The rear one was fully extended and the front one only had a couple of clicks left at 60,000 kms.

It was great to get out and cruise all afternoon.

First ride of the season

It is great getting back in the saddle. I seem to have same problem with poor mileage. Perhaps it was always that bad and we just suffer from poor memory.

First ride of the season

Great feeling though that first ride of the season, Redjay :)

I am averaging 65 to 70km per bar (40 - 43 miles). On average I get about 50 to 55 miles per Imperial gallon on my 2010 Nomad.

Enjoy your ride and perhaps we can meet for coffee sometime I am up your way quite a lot as my daughter lives in the Baden area.

Glad you got to get out John, that wind in your face feels awesome. I hope the rest of your season goes just as well.

Hi Mac. Sorry about that. I posted it in the garage section then realised I had made a mistake so I put it in this section. What is an illegal message error and how does that impact you ?

I posted just as you deleted, and since the tread was gone it was an illegal act on my part. The PC police will show up first thing Monday at my house.
