28K is high for Ultras, even out the door. CJ has a limited and I don't think he paid that much.

Vaquero vs Nomad
Hey guys, I have a 05 1600 Nomad that I am very happy with, No problems, but I have the oportunity to trade for a 2011 1700 Vaquero and the payments would be the same. Trying to make up my mind if it is worth it. Any responses to that? I got to test ride the Vaquero and it vibrates more than my Nad, and is taller in the saddle. Is the vibration due to the belt drive, and can they be lowered any. Does any one think that the difference in the two bikes is worth it?
Thanks, T |

The engine has more vibes and I guess that is the way they designed it. It handles much better at low speed though and comes with features the 1600 doesn't have. If the payment is the same, what's the difference then? On the other hand, are you unhappy with the Nomad? If I were in your place, I might trade. If the Vaquero had ABS and better passenger accommodations, I would definitely trade. Why they don't sell the Vaquero with ABS in this country is beyond me.

Last year when I bought mine, MSRP for the Ultra was in the $21k-$23k range and the Limited was $23k-$25k. The price range is due to color option. Single color was cheapest, two color was in the middle and custom color was the high end. Unlike some manufacturers, whose only options are red or black, you have choices with HD.
