Air shocks on 1600's

I too decided to equalize the shocks. In theory the bike will handle better threw the twisties and both shocks will be the same pressure. Also much easier to inflate/deflate to desired psi. I wanted to hide fittings and gauge so I installed it inside the left side cover.

Put the Progressive kit on - used liquid teflon on all fittings - thing sat all winter - lost 2 lbs. Put a 45 elbow and then used the supplied valve assembly - now I can easily check and adjust air with the Progressive Pump!

I thought about just using Teflon tape on the fittings, but the threads seemed particularly sloppy and I thought they'd still turn too easily. Teflon works best where you have an interference fit, like tapered pipe threads. There was sure no interference on those adaptor threads.

I've never used "liquid teflon" however. Does it set up hard like regular pipe dope?
