I was going to say the seat thing. If your throttle is so stiff that the housing spins you need to lube the cables

I have only been able to ride once for a 25 mile round trip since the install but noticed an improvement immediately as far as throttle response and low speed throttle control. I.e reduction in jerking in low gear. I also have not noticed as much popping in exhaust. Not sure if throttle mod made the difference or cable adjustment as a result of the mod install or if a direct result of ambient temperature (50f) allowed for cooler engine & exhaust temps. Time and more rides will tell. I plan to tweak throttle cable adjustment a bit to see if there is even more improvement to be gained by this mod. Btw while taking off the throttle assembly from the handlebar, the heads your oem screws gall-out as mine did, be gentle with the rubber mallet while setting the ease-out tool. If you get heavy handed as i did you will shear the alignment pin on the throttle assembly housing. A replacement housing costs about $230! I could not wait any longer to ride so i did not replace the throttle assembly, yet. I did choose to engineer a temporary repair/replacement for the alignment pin that seems to be working... So far. I did also install hex head screws in throttle assembly as replacements for oem screws and used anti-seize on threads. Thanks ray for all your help and for providing a product that works!!
thank you sir...enjoy!!

Is it a new machined end?

thanks!

A pool que and some duct tape huh ? Really???? Here is a link to the end of the pool que.

Still look like a pool que ????? and NO He won't explain how he makes them , It's " top secret " .

That was my attempt at humor that may have been lost in translation.....sorry. I was thinking more of the zip tie option!

Honestly there are prettier ways but it worked
All this mod does is pull the throttle cable further with less wrist rotation,,
it doesn't matter how you go about doing it, this is not Hi-Tech stuff
My dad said they did this all the time on there dirtbikes, WAY Back in the day
He just took two slotted head sheet metal screws and ran them into the tube where the cable tracked lined them up with the cable guide so the screws would run in the slots. All this does is make the barrel that the cable runs in Bigger so the cable travels farther for the same amount of wrist turn. It really is that simple.
but there are better ways to do it than the screws
If I was going to buy one. I would buy Dave's, They are sweeet!!
Or if you just don't want to mess with them at all get Ray's, There bolt on
Don't let anybody fool you though. At the end of the day, They are all the same thing,, A quick turn throttle

I may be a bit concerned about cable wear as it wraps over the screw head over and over......but that's just me.

Like I said, there are better ways
I ran my dragbike for a couple of seasons that way, A hole bunch of real short trips
I would build mine with a cam lobe shape so it will open quickly pass the flat spot in the powerband off idle and then kind of smooth out for the rest of the throttle travel
When you think about it This is exactly what a screw would do
I know I can build something better, but the screw would be a very quick way to test my theory,,
Since I am going to throw away my old throttle tube I have something to investigate with,, I'm starting to like this idea

That's pretty much what dshelly posted above, but I know what you mean, you would think that over the initial "lobe" of the cam it would taper off.... it looks as if the one Dave posted above is a constant thickness (not to say that is NOT the way to do it, it may be perfect), but I would think a more linear travel on the cable would be a taper too. Interested to know if you try it how it works. I could fire up the lathe and make one myself too.....

If you make the ring like a cam it won't work. This ring is as big as you can go without interfering with the housing. I tried to make it larger diameter and it scraped when you turned it.

I don't know that "bigger" was the intent, only tapered so the initial cam is the same size as your ring, but that it tapers around and gets thinner on the backside so as you twist there is not as much cable pulled in the last half of the rotation.
