I also enjoy traveling in the States and instead of crunching numbers all the time, I just remember the common speed limits: 70 mph = 110 kph 60 mph = 100 kph 50 mph = 80 kph 30 mph = 50 kph 20 mph = 30 kph (School zone, playground zone, watch out). As far as the ODO readout, eg. to track maintenance intervals, one could use the built-in calculator found in every phone. You know what, forget the numbers, just ride and enjoy your bike and the scenery. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Welcome swede, I am right next door in Abby and I ride in the US regularly. Add 60K=40 miles to that list and you are close enough. Like Rickyboy, I ride with a GPS that shows MPH, routes and my fave places to eat, get gas, parts and such across the line.

Imperial gallons @ US prices +1
Agree with CNC I can convert km to miles and back but am lost when it comes to using L/100kms. My wife's new vehicle shows the average fuel consumption in L/100 kms on the dash so the first thing I do when driving her suv is toggle through to a different setting so I don't go crazy thinking about it! I always convert L to gallons (imperial) and kms to miles to figure out my gas mileage. If you are visiting Canada from the US and want better gas mileage remember to do the above conversion using imperial gallons
