Don't ever let me get your m/c tires for you!

Well, you all remember all my adventures with getting my new tires for the Nomad? Well Ken went to get his new tires put on his wing that he had the guy order. Picked up his wing...2 days later he noticed instead of the Dunlap Elite III's he wanted on his bike they had mounted Dunlap 250!

So back he went - they said sorry they're mistake. If you want the Elite IIIs will order and put on ......Ken being the nice guy that he is said he would leave these on but he got very high mileage out of the elite IIIs so that is why he was going with them again. The guy being nice too....wrote a note in his book and gave Ken a signed copy saying if he did not get the mileage expected out of the 250s he will order the IIIs at cost and mount for free.

I told Ken my tire experiences as rubbing off on him. :(

Anybody want me or Ken to take you bike in for your new tires just let us know.

You folks have been visited by the Tire Jinx, haven't you? That's gotta be it, or else this dealer is either the least sober man in the state or simply thinks everyone is too stupid to notice the crap he's trying to pull.

A word of advice: Check the date codes on those 250's. They might be an old rotten set he's had sitting on the shelf for years and he just wanted to get rid of them. If one blows out on that Wing your hubby might not be going back to collect on the I.O.U.

OMG! BD's right. Check that VIN number immediately!

As a matter of fact, does Ken have any identifying marks on him? It's entirely possible that this is not the same man you sent off to the motorcycle dealer!

I'm thinkin' it's time to find a new dealer. It's easy to be nice when you know you are the one who messed up.

I just ordered ME880 WWW's for my bike. I really screwed up though. Every time I looked at the tread of my rear tire it always had sand or dirt on it so I didn't really notice until too late that they were really worn down. I took another look at them today after I ordered the tires and could see a patch of fabric where there should be a nice fat chunk of rubber and tread. Now my bike is off the road until the Metzlers I ordered come in. :-[ :'(

It's not the same dealer - ain't that scary!

This was the chop shop that put my new (correct) front tire on. His wife just started helping in in the shop and she was actually the one who ordered the tires and ordered the wrong ones...she was going by the OEM replacement for wings. She apoligized 20 million times. They're really nice folks and he told Ken he would do it how ever he wants. Being as he told Ken if he did not get the milage he got on the other set .....what he is saying is if Ken comes in with a year and half later and says he didn't get the wear he expected ...he told Ken he would order his next set at his cost and mount for free....so he is really....and he did offer to get the right set and eat those....being as he is a chop shop I'm sure he would really had to eat them to as he don't get much metric business except for tires and oil changes he mostly works on Harleys.

Oh my - You know when Ken came back from the chop shop he was speaking French.....don't remember him doing that before....ummmmmm????????
