ANDY ROONEY'S THEORY OF LIFE

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death. What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards.

You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out because you're too young, you get a gold watch and you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities. You become a little baby, you go back into the womb, Spend your last nine months floating and you finish off as an orgasm.

Ain't that the truth?

Same here.....I finally went to Lowe's yesterday morning and bought a 7amp B&D (Firestorm) drill, a wooden dowel 1 1/8 in size, a hole saw, 1 3/4 in size and a can of high temp flat black paint.

Got the deed done in about 30 minutes. Changed the oil and filter, then went for a 3 hour ride. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! BD is right....it's not too loud, but sounds deeper and throaty.

If anyone wants to do the deed and you're close to Tyler/Lindale, let me know. I've already got the stuff to do it with.

BTW BD, we need to do a writeup on this and put it on the KawaNOW website.

Glad you liked it Trip! I rode home yesterday from San Diego and I couldn't fine a speed that the Nomad didn't like! The faster I rode the bichin'er (old timers phrase) she sounded! I'd hold 85 than roll it on to 100 then back to 85. What a sound! No motorcycle passed me on the way home! Still pulled 35MPG. I wish I could go through a full tank at 70MPH just to see me break 40MPG!!

Trip did you notice that when your riding "up there" 80 or more then have to slow down to 70 the exhaust note is so low the thought of downshifting enters your mind!?

The V&H on my shadow had 3 set screws on the sides of the pipes and then the baffle would kinda slide out with a little persuasion. (Don't know if all V&H have removeable baffles.) I wouldn't recommend it though. On my spirit 1100 when I did this I rode to the end of my cul-de-sac and immediatly flipped around and put the baffles back in. Not only was it extremly loud, the thumping felt like someone lightly punching me in the chest and it kinda scared me to feel my insides vibrating like that.

Since I don't own V&H pipes, and Judi and Sue knows what a incompetent mechanic you are and your propensity to scre things up and then threaten legal action to my CME instructions, you'll have to contact my attorney for more information.
