How many miles...

I've averaged about 8000 per year. Like LW said, with the national rally travel, I plan for 09 to bring higher milage.

How many miles...

Wow, you guys have me embarassed! :) I got my Nomad in May, and have 4200 on it. This will be my biggest year ever, as I have averages 3500-4000. Now that I have a more comfortable long distance bike, I am looking forward to some longer trips.

And my friends think I ride a lot! Many of them only ride about 1500/year. I went on a group day tour in Kansas last weekend. It was about 285 miles total and I could not get any of the 3 guys I asked to go with me, because they thought it was too far! I read somewhere that the average miles/year in the US is about 1800. I sure see a of bikes on craigslist that are 3-4 years old an only have 2k miles on them.

When I sold my 2005 C50 in May, it had 11k miles on it, and a couple of people who looked at it commented that it had a lot of miles. WTH??
:)

I've had my 07 for 1 year 8 months. It has right at 28,000 on it, so that's about 16,800 / year.

I average about 8,000 to 10,000 here in Michigan, if the climate was better would tend to put more on the clock each year.

No need to feel embarrassed. Remember many of us live where we can ride 12 months out of the year. I actually have made an effort to cut back on my riding after going through my original set of tires in 8 months. Look at BD, he only rides in the month of June... apparently.

While some of you are already thinking of putting your bikes up for the winter, it's just becoming prime riding season here in the desert. I'll put 80% of my annual miles on my bike between now and the end of May.

I am averaging about 800 miles per month during prime season. I am required to drive a car for work so no commuter miles. With the weather around here I imagine I will only ride 300 per month in some months. No real long trips this year but hope to get one in next year.

Total I am guessing 7000 this year and maybe 9000 next.

Like CJ said...no need to feel embarrassed!!! The weather right now is getting PERFECT for riding!!! I'm just fortunate enough that I get to ride my bike for a commuter!!! Kind of kills 3 birds with one stone so to speak.... Transportation to and from work... get to enjoy my ride and... Cheeeeeep stress reliever and therapy!! LOL!

How many miles...

We average between 17,000 and 18,000 a year on the bikes. Liz got her 08 in March and has over 13,000 on it. I bought my 05 the 3rd week of July in 05 and I have over 54,000 on it.
Liz traded her 04 Nomad for her 08 and it had over 58,000 on it for the 4 years she owned it.

Before the Nomad I averaged 3 to 4000 miles a year. Bought Nad in April of this year and just turned 8000. :)
