Wadda Ya Think??

Very nice mods...I may have to steal the hand design. Already have chaps for the engine guards.

Me like "see thru" the crash bar chaps. I have the same road lights mounted on top of the bars. I have to go out in the garage and see how much Lexan I have laying around and get busy.

Great idea.

Clayton, great job and it all looks very nice. When summer arrives do you just take the plexiglass off?

Gene
Yes...
I will just simply remove the 4 radiator shroud bolts and remove it as one piece.

Nice work! I too have thought of making lexan chaps. I was thinking a couple rubber coated adel clamps on the tube would take out the wiggle. I've already made the hand guards.

Wheelie,
I too thought about some type of clamp but I might go with something like this:

Those clamps are way overkill for what they would be used for, but it would look nice!

You're right on price overkill CJ... You could use simple rubberpadded "P" clamps from Lowes electrical section, they're polished steel and coated with rubber inside, to prevent scratching the bars. I have the same handguards as Dan Lund, and like him, I too have rode in snow when I was younger, tho I don't do it these days. Guess I'm nuts too? As for your Idea and design on the chaps Clayton, I am impressed. You have more talent in your little pinky finger than I have in my entire body. That's what I tell my son too. Those are really kool and I like the idea too. Keep us posted. ;) Dam good work!

Thanks Much Ridem.... :)
After riding with them I think if I beef up the aluminum strips I will be good to go.
For the most part this design on the chaps is one that will last "forever"
If the plex gets too scratched up all I will do is trace the design on another piece of plex and walla....new set...hehe
Or for that matter there are several spray paints on the market that can mimic texture and I was looking the other day at the Rustoleum site and the offer a Leather Look paint...so if I feel froggy I can have "leather" looking chaps as well by simply just using some spray paint...
If I had a better setup I could try to do like XNCRMAN is doing with his but on a cheaper scale.
I can't wait until he designs the 08 Nomad series....
I like mine and they are very functional...heck who knows all of us should put our heads together and make some MAD money...hehe
Later all
