Nomads and Trailers

Trailers = Trash ... Garbage

I loves being trash ... There is nothing on Earth like taking out the trash for a four month run ...

In the beginning ... new trash

Trash with a view ...

View of the trash ...

Trash in the morning ...

Movin down the road trash ...

Lunch ...

They say a picture is worth a thousand words ... Hope y'all liked my trash talk ... Cause I sure did love making that conversation

Yea ... I glazed the clutch during a two hour border crossing into British Columbia from Seattle. The first hour was a slight upgrade in stop and go traffic. Not good. Rode to Saskatchewan to put thick Kawi steel plates in and she's been fine ever since. Unrelated ... the stators went further south than I did ... but when stators go ... They go. Other than that ... Wore out a rear tire and a pair of brake pads.

I got the trailer here in Ontario.

I don't have a trailer yet but will one day. I'd love to see a trailer section.

Great rig. I just got mine all wired up and licensed so I will take it out soon for it's maiden voyage. It is a used trailer but in great shape.

Those pic's were great, I think a trailer section would be kool to have because I am one of the guys on the fence about it and would really like to hear more about the pro's-con's like how do the rough roads feel when pulling one? have you had to e-brake does it want to jack knife you? these would be just some of the ??'s so bring on the trailer section
ride safe.

Can someone please tell me more about the clutch plate issue. Aug of 09 we are riding from Tampa area to Montreal CN. I'm taking the trailer and she's riding her bike.

I already planned on bringing extra brake pads but it sounds like I should put in heavier clutch plates before I go.

Is there anything else I should know before I take a long trip like that with the trailer?

Mike.

Mike.

My clutch problem came about after extreme circumstances. With the stock clutch I pulled the trailer from Toronto via Michigan and in a not too direct route south, rode the mountains to Suches Georgia, then meandered out to the west coast. It was that hour in stop and go traffic on a slight up hill grade while crossing the border that the clutch got cooked.

This is the first story I've heard of someone glazing their clutch while towing a trailer with any bike. I'm sure this is not a typical experience.
