Rich, congrats on ordering your fairing. Mine came in today, but I didn't get a chance to even pull the bubble wrap off of it, since I was only home for a short time inbetween work. Tomorrow I'll get a better look at it.

Well the red paint was late shipping so no fairing till Tues now. But was able to find a brand new rider 2 gps so that was cool. Now to pick an Alpine head unit they also has a very small 45 rms watt amp that plugs right into the head unit no power wires to mess with. Put my windshield back on for a ride to today and I'll have to say once you go Bat you'll never go back. I was in a Victory dealer and sat on one of the tour somethings the bagger looking one and I really like the handlebars on it your hands are in a much more natural position might have to explore that option.

Can somebody COMMENT
on the different handling characteristics of before and after the Fairing. Vulcans have always been know to be well handling, yet fork mounted fairings for sure add weight to the steering. It's got to have a heavier feel. ( I know we didn't buy our Nomads to be Sport Bikes). I once had a GL1200 Goldwing, frame mounted fairing and I liked it. I also hear the the HD Street Glide (frame mounted fairing) have a better steering feel than the Ultra?

Mine is much more stable at highway speed might be the extra down force at 75 not sure but it is rock solid and at low speed I can't tell any difference

I took mine for quick spin with the fairing mounted. It felt about the same, handling wise, but I never got over 60mph.

Good to hear that handling is not a issue,, I find the Nomad slow handling at parking lot speeds, Im not big. even though Im 220lbs at 6ft 3.. Sounds big but Im a slim version . Man cannt wait to get my fairing..Now I have to get it painted soon ::).. I hold off on food and beer for awhile well Ill hold off on Food anyway ::)

That's the trade off for the longer rack and trail

Yes it is,, BUT when I get on the 1100 Honda it really shows the difference LOL. I can turn on a dime with that bike :).. BUT for the long haul the Nomad is the bike to have,, and even hopping around the Nomad just is a more comfortable bike..
With the fairing it will be better, I will add the Marine Radio w.CD/MP3 and Weather Band.. Decided the Weather Band would be a bonus since I long haul alot..

I'm curious as to paint costs on the batwing fairings. I had a local shop quote $250 for a two tone job. I'll be ordering my wing shortly and based on these threads am convinced the reckless fairing will work just fine.

Thanks, Bill

Was looking at seals for the fairing project and found these u shaped seals thought about doing a seal around the inner fairing and door edge seal on the outer to give a finished look to the seam of the two halves was thinking the first one on the chart
comments welcome
