That's good stuff there Mick.

I did hitch up the 2 and take it for a ride today. Backroads, you don't really know the trailer is back there. Hit the Interstate and it pulled great even in a stiff side wind. No wobbles and swaying. Haven't loaded it up with weight but so far its great. Me and my local riding buddies are talking about a couple of days trip to Gatlinburg in April. May take it with me and may not.

Just don't get complacent about it. You need to be aware of the braking capability, and the width of it. I hear all this "didn't even know it was there", bullshit comments, all the time. Trust me. On country back roads, and in town traffic, you need to be alert. Enjoy the freedom that it brings you though. Nothing like looking at the scenery, pulling up, and making it home for a day or so If you run out of beer ect, you can even watch a bit of TV.

Like I said above Mick, I haven't loaded it down extremely heavy, yet and don't intend on making a truck out of it. I did put 60 pounds weight in her the day after my last post and all was great. Taking off in a turn gives you a little side pull feel but no problems. Good thing about the width is the tires are tucked under in wheel wells, and it has rubber torsion axles with air assist shocks, well balanced, and a swivel in the tongue. Its pretty smooth. Leaf springs will beat it to death. The 1700 braking system made the bike fill still balanced on braking. I been pulling heavy trailers all my life, so the only thing new is it's behind a bike now. Don't have to be to concerned about the width. A 1700 is 39 1/4 wide and with the forward pegs she's braking 50 inches +. The trailer is 40 inches at it's widest point. If I'm gonna hit something with it I'll take a leg off first.

Mick:
Love that setup! Looks like you've got everything covered.

Hey Chuck. It can get a bit interesting, when loaded up with the beer & steaks, for local beach, or forest parties.
