motor switch

i found a 2000 classic with 12000 miles for a good price, thinking of swapping it into my 2000 nomad, which has 45000 miles. Am i right in thinking it is the same motor and should be able to swap right over? While i have the original out would do a minor rebuild depending on whats needed.

We'll limp along with a little (probably misguided) advice until MAS gets here... For my part I'm thinking there may be a difference in the stators / wiring loom? The Nomad, produces more power for accessories, I think.

It's the same engine with the exception of the paint color.

If your bike is Carb and the engine FI, you'll have to drill and tap one hole in each cylinder since the intakes are slightly different, and you may have to swap the ignition pick-ups with the original engine.
