Sheepskin seat cover

Anybody put a sheepskin cover on their Nomad?

I'm thinking of getting one for an extended trip I'm taking this summer.

How do you like the sheepskin and do you have any pictures?
Pros, Cons.

i have used the sheepskin pads offered by alaska leather and
they will add another 100 miles or so to your comfort on a long
trip.

I'll try and get some pics of it and talk about it later, but the wife and I both like the added comfort, I did sew an Airhawk on the bottom and I'll try and get some pics of that too. I got the skin from here http://www.sheepskin.com/ $69, high quality, several colors and fast shipping, machine washable, what more could you want?

I mount the skin on the bike by using small bungies and also hold the rear end down the same way, attached to my top bag rack.

Sorry about the background mess, the shed coming out of winter.

Hope this helps you out---the sewing was a little tough, but the ride is worth it.

Wool will both keep you warm and in hot weather keep you cooler. What else can you say :) It works. I have the woven wool not the original type nad find it alot better

For those who have mentioned that sheepskin helps you ride longer, stay more comfortable, does that also include if you are riding in a riding suit? I have the Alaska Sheepskin, but really can't feel much impact below my Aerostich Darien pants. Not saying that it's not doing anything, but it's hard to tell, wondering if others have comments about it.

I sewed an AirHawk under a sheepskin too. It is the most comfortable ride.

But don't park too close to a pasture that has a ram in it. (nobody needed that picture, did they?) BnG

I just put a strap around the seat then used velcro attached to the strap and the other side of the velcro attached to the under side of the sheepskin. I just pull it off shake the damn pollen and dust off and stick it back on. I did the same thing for the wifes seat. works for me and the wife :)

best pic that I have of it

Thank you everyone. I think I'm going to get one. Not sure about the look but I'm sold on the comfort.

your butt will thank you when you sit on it instead of a hot black seat.

Here is exactly what I did. WIth all materials it cost me $30 and took me a week to do, only sewing in the evenings after supper. I can pics if you want but mine look pretty much the same as the ones on gadget's page.

I've been looking for sheepskin pieces as described on the gadget page but apparently in this area many stores stopped carrying them. I know Benny's used to but no longer. Wally world doesn't carry them anymore. I figure I'm just going to order from Alaska. Torn on color though. Black, charcoal or ivory.

I'll probably go with the safe color black.......I'm so confused.........

I guess if money was no issue for me I would have ordered from Alaska because they do look much nicer. If you are interested in the DIY version described on gadget's site I could put a cost list together and ship them to you for cost. My local wally world has them in stock all the time. I want to say they are $4.99 or $5.99 each. I used 5 total, 2 for passenger seat piece and 3 for driver. Elastic straps cost me $3 at fabric store.

ALways willing to help out another member.

I want to see pictures if you go with the black.

Thank you I appreciate the thought. I'm going to give Alaska a call later to discuss possibilities. I let you know what happens.
