Question Cobra True Duals 1600

OK, I've been going back and forth about a new exhaust system. Currently have stock debaffled on my 07 1600. Have already installed a Cobra TFI and Hypercharger so I'm ready for the free flowing exhaust. The problem is I don't want the bike much louder than it is now but I really want more power. So I figured I'd try opening up the exhaust before I decided to sell the Nomad and get a Yamaha Strat S instead. The Nomads lack of power just does not excite me and I'm not willing to live with it much longer if I can't find a way to improve it. I have done the research and the Cobra True Duals look like they are the quietest of the aftermarket pipes.
I've had loud pipes on all my bikes in the past and I'm to old and to tired of the sound now.
My question is, does anyone have any info on a reasonable place to buy them. I've been looking around and the cheapest I can find them is around $495 plus shipping which to me adds another $90 bucks or so.

Also, if any one has a pic of a 1600 with the billet tipped Cobra true duals I'd like to see it.
Thanks for everyones time.

If you want Max HorsePower over style and comfort shop here before you buy your next machine.

http://www.cyclehp.com/index.php?pag...r=hp&sort=desc

I have the Cobra true duals (not the billet tips). If your not happy with the power of your Nomad, I doubt that the difference made by the Cobra's will impress you $600.00 worth.

Yeah, you won't see much increase, if any.

I have, in the past, seen some pretty good deals on Cobra pipes. I would keep checking and see what kind of deal you may find.

As far as power I have way more power than I probably need. I could really get in trouble if I opened it up. I don't know if my bike has more power than anyone else's but I am very well satisfied. I can beat most cars from a standstill and it goes fast enough to get me a reckless driving or riding ticket. I haven't been caught but it goes fast enough to put me in that category.

It isn't a Honda V65 that would smoke the tires but I don't need that any longer. I have gotten beyond that several years ago. Am I happy with my Nomad? You could definitely say I am.

I have the Cobras and love em. But they don't make the bike run like a Stratoliner...

Go for the 2004 Hayabusa Dude. We'll scrape you up later.

After my current mods I took my '06 Nomad to 115 mph (125 on the speedo) and it still had legs if not for the rev limiter. I have a 205/60-16 GYTT tire on the rear and it will still break it loose. If that's not enough power . . . either there is something wrong with your Nomad or you're just looking for suicide.

225hp on the 'Busa??!! I don't think I have that many horses in my Blazer.

If you want power in a cruiser, the Strat isn't a bad way to go. It's a hell of a lot bigger (motor wise) than the 1600 Nomad so I would hope it would have more power. I rode with someone last year who had just bought an '09 Strat holdover. No way I would have been able to keep up with him. I now have an open intake, fuel processor and V&H exhaust and while I'm sure I have a bit more power (I've heard it adds as much as 10hp), there's still no way I'd be able to keep up with him.

I'll have to 2nd whoever said you won't get a $600 improvement in power with the exhaust although I'll bet you see something. The Nomad has more than enough power to get out if it's own way but it's not a Ninja/Hayabusa/Ducati.

You'll get a nicer sound out of the Cobras but i doubt any more power.

I got a notable HP increase with my Cobra/PC III install, but I didn't Dyno until after so I can't prove it. Added a few more with Chuckster's Single plate and a Dyno Map after that.

My 1325 turbo cartire bike to go faster. Just never have enough HP

Ive spent a fortune in the past on buying HP, I hope those days are over for me. If I was to do it again I think the best way is use the largest motor possible, and nitrous.

Bunch a damn speed freaks around here.

All I did was a baffelectomy on my 07.
That freekin monster will go the speed limit with no problem now.

Didn't you gain like 3 HP after the dyno run?
