I went to the DarkSide today.

Today I finally mounted a Dunlop SP5000 on my Nomad. The tire seated at 35lbs which was surprising for me. I was embracing to have to pump it up to 80-100lbs. I had it sitting in the back of my hot car before mounting it, so maybe that had something to do with it. I pumped the tire up to 38lbs and rode around town with it. At first it felt a little squishy, but after about a mile it felt just fine. By the time I got home I hardly noticed a difference. I was expecting a lot bigger of a difference. Tomorrow I will be able to take it out for a longer ride and give it a real test, but at this point I'm extremely happy.

Don't I get a cookie or patch or number or something? :)

I don't have a patch for you......and you can't have my Darkside sticker, but I will tell you how to get one if you want.

Welcome to the Darkside.

Utah, I'm seriously thinking on going to the Darkside too. Any reason why you picked the Dunlop?

I went to the DarkSide today.

I have questions that I am just to lazy to search for. How does the tire handle in the rain? How strong is the side wall and have there been any issues with going to the dark side (other than troubles finding a patch). I just called and I can get the tire for $145 and probably a stupid question, is there any kind of tire guarantee on milage like there is on cars? It is hard to resist the dark side.... must....resist....must....resist.....

Sorry guys. I have been busy changing the fork oil today and haven't been able to get out too much. I have a long (6K miles) ride coming up and I'm trying to get the bike as ready as possible.

I went to the DarkSide today.

I'm running a Metzler 880 on the rear and a Dunlop Elite III on the front. Really works great for me. Did a lot of reading before making the change and it paid off.

After doing a lot of research on another forum, it seemed that this was one of the more commonly used tires for the Nomad. And I found it for a good price--$77.
