Drivers Backrest
Well I finally did it, ordered a drivers backrest from Grasshopper LTD for my 07 Nomad.
I am just a little concerned that the single mounting bolt for the bracket is strong enough, but it must be as I have not heard anything about this, only good reviews for the product. In the picture for installation on Grasshopper's website, it looks like you could weld some "tabs" on to the bracket so it would bolt down with the rear seat bracket also. If it is wobbly with just one bolt that is. Still waiting for the snow to melt. Terbear I know I have the disease, I find my self wearing my leather around the house !!! Nothing wrong with that. I wear my chaps even when it is warm out and we are riding... I just can't help myself

Not sure of your size terbear... but I'm 6'1" 210lbs and I'm the smaller of the group who's ordered one of these and have had NO problem. Todd & Jon and others have ordered it and hasn't had any problems. The way it mounts, there really aren't any weak spots... just my 2cw...

Can't wait to get my backrest. I will install it when I am getting my seats reworked. Then I will have new padding in seats, backrest, Streble horn, large lowers and risers! Waiting on my chuckster risers to get here, probably tomorrow.

I just received mine and it installed in minutes. I'm going to take it for a ride to see how it feels. It looks good.

New backrest feels good!
Hey, Dakals. Any good way to prop it forward just a bit? Wish it was about 1" forward. My next task is to find some good highway pegs. Michael |
