New Ultimate Seat for my Nomad

Just got back from Daytona a little while ago. I rode down to "Ultimate Seats" this morning and bought a new driver and passenger seat for my Nomad. So far i like it. They have a 14 day trial period where you can return it anytime during the 14 days for a full refund if your not happy. I didn't purchase the driver backrest at this time but can add it anytime i so decide, the seat already has the required hardware.
here's a couple of pics....

Taz, we need to get on a ride and then you can let me sit on it? What did the driver seat cost? If you care to share?

Trosco, I believe the driver seat was $310.00, you can go to their website and it gives you all the prices. I don't think I'm going to be able to make the ride this weekend, if anything changes I'll make sure I make one of the meetup points. Next time we get together you can definitly plant your ass on it and see what you think.

Looks good. If they were out, when I bought my mustang, I would have tried them. but they were still coming soon for the Nomad 1600 at that time.
Let us know after a few hundred miles on it how well it works.

funtogo....sorry but I don't know if it will work with that backrest or not. I do know that the driver seat is made to accept one of their backrests. You could probably call them, they might be able to answer that for you.

New Ultimate Seat for my Nomad

Caper,
Since you asked, here's my comment on Ultimate seat..Had you not asked, I would have said nothing.

First, they are a class outfit to work with.....very ethical.

Second, my experience was with a Suki C50T (800 cc cruiser).
Thus, my comment does not apply to the Nomad, but at least it is about the Ultimate seat.

I ordered the Ultimate seat, backrest adn pillion and installed them...I rode for the suggested 100 miles as suggested and then added a couple of hundred more miles in the next few days.....The seat was good; he backrest was beyond fabulous.....however, I then felt those unpleasant twinges in the butt that come "standard" with so many stock seats...I decided to send it back and got my full refund, excpet for shipping to and from..My net estimation is that it was a good seat, but not good enough to warrant $800 plus relative to my pocketbook, which is just me..I felt the stock seat with an Airhawk cushion was accpetable but I wanted to improve on that, so I continued to look..

What to do? well, I wnet ot Suki dealer and they said I might want to try an OEM gel seat together with pillion for $240 out the door..I ordered one and installed it and am very pleased..It looks kinda like a mustang.... I use teh grasshopper backrest with it..It is fine, but not in the league of a ultimate backrest for my back......but aside from that I like my gel seat somewhat better...

I also say in fairness that over on the VolusiaRiders site a thread on the Ultimate includes a good dozen and more rave reviews of the Ultimate seat, with only mine as a respectful, "it's not for me"...So obviously the Ult is a fine seat.....My butt just didn't think so...

So as in anything else, the "mileage" of the individual may vary.
The nicest thing about the Ultimate is the 14 day trial period.
That's impressive...they never made a whimper when I called and asked for a retun number, which by the way was my last name..

Regards,

crapper, the mustang for me was an improvement over the stock
seat but still had a couple of hot spots that were bothersome.now
keep in mind that i have had six mustang seats on various bikes
over the years and the nomad model was the first time i had any
complaint.the ultimate seat is a substantial improvement over the
mustang for my particular buttt.keep in mind that not all butt's
are created equal and what seat works for one may not work for
another.
