Along that line of questioning, I am wondering about running my trailer lights off the existing wiring circuit on the Vaquero, or if I should get the isolator (which I may do anyway) that runs the trailer lights right off of the battery? I would think there would be enough power from the alternator to simply run the trailer lights, right?

Was not hard to wire in, but on the voyager I had to remove the trunk during install of the hitch and wire harness. It was easy as I remember that I got the trailer 4 days before a long trip and the hitch 2 days before. Pulled the trailer at least 20,000 miles since and not 1 issue. I would suggest the isolator. Factory system may blow fuses. I also have added extra lights to the trailer. Shep. |

The unit I used before and will probably order again is the following:
http://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-46255-...hoppy+isolator Its really just a relay, that draws the power for the trailer lights from the battery instead of the wiring harness for the lights.

Now that trailer will be SEEN! Nice Rig! I haven't had much time on my bike so the only pictures I have is the ones in my profile. But I have picked up a time-out camper and have another trailer in the works to haul my R/C airplanes to the flying field. That will be a home-build that I will be working on in the spring. All I need is time and less snow (we have about 12" on the ground now...and another 10" on the way tonight).
Ditto on the window pouch, I want one of those as well but not sure how I want to mount that, so any info is welcome!

I fabbed up a couple lightweight brackets and used 2 of the screws that come through from the windshield mount. Had to purchase 2 new longer bolts also. Just little shaped brackets. You can use anything as long as You can bend it a little. That is a Harley tri pouch that has the metal bracket on it from Harley. Most don't have that and you will need it to mount. I think the pouch was like 100 bucks since it has Harley-Davidson stamped in the leather.
