Mounting fuse box under left side panel

For my project bike, I'm installing a Centech auxillary fuse box. It fits perfectly above the tool kit enclosure in two spots: one directly above the tool box pull-opener; the other aft of the velcro strap.

My preferred spot is the forward spot, because there is already a manufactured hole in the enclosure--backing up to the battery compartment. It is so perfect that I figure there must be some reason why I shouldn't use it.

Is there a purpose to that opening that I would obstruct by mounting a fuse panel over it?

Thanks.

I think that opening is where the hoses are routed to the canister which is located in the rear of the side panel on the California bikes.

That's where I ran my wiring.

You are correct. One of these days I might see what happens when I remove mine. Maybe this is why I can't get above 95 MPH. URghhh and I didn't even buy my bike in CA, nor do I live there anymore.

I live in AZ, bought my 2007 Nomad brand new in AZ, and it's a CA emissions bike. I had to remove my emissions canister so I could mount my cruise control servo unit in its place. I just connected the two hoses together with a coupling and stuffed the hoses back inside the frame.

Sadly, it didn't make my bike go any faster - but since it's black, it's already the fastest. ::)
