Replace turn signals with bag mounts

Was wondering if anyone has replaced the stock rear turn signals with ones relocated into the rear of the hardbags. Any pics, or write ups with pics?

Why not leave the originals and add run/brake lights to the bags
The more light back there the better.

This isn't a great picture, but here is what I did.
The stock turn signals are gone and the bag lights are both turn and brake.

What did you do with the license plate light on top? Paint over it? Just remove the bulb (if it's a separate bulb)? How much sanding did it take to match the curve of the bag? I'm not sure I want the tombstones on my bag but something will go there eventually.

I had to trim it a little but no big deal.
I painted the license plate lens black from the inside.

Got mine from the same place. They fit the curve of the bags.
I painted the clear plastic piece green.
I removed the stock signals on mine because I thought it looked better.
To me the stock signals look like an afterthought.
Removing them does require some type of controller for turn/brake.

Controller? Wouldn't you still plug brake light to brake light wiring and turn signals to turn signal wiring? What's the extra light in the middle? Looks like it fits well.

No, you couldn't wire both to one bulb.
Stock setup is two seperate bulbs (circuits) for turn and brake.
The way mine is now I'm only using one bulb (LED's really) for both.
I was installing a trailer hitch and the trailer lights would have the same issue. One bulb not two.
I used a hoppy converter for the trailer lights. It determines if the blinker of brake light is suppose to be on.
And protects the bikes wiring. I ran my bag lights off of it as well.
The center brake light is from custom dynamics.
It and the stock brake light work off the bikes factory brake light circuit.

You will need a controller or a resistor in line for the LED's or they will not flash at the correct rate, IIRC.

So you modified the type/number of lights. I get it. I was wondering why you'd have to change anything if you only moved a turn signal (from OEM to the bag). Makes sense now.

How did you guys run your new turn signal wiring? Obviously, it starts in the bags. Where did it go from there? I wouldn't mind doing something like this (although I'd probably replace the brake light with a tombstone just to keep the continuity).
