question about the cleanup grinding....

i have put the grinder to the inside of the cut...angled on the outside to sensire it was smooth. Whne it comes to cleaning the rear end of the exhaust prior to painting, should i gring off ALL the black? or just clean it well then paint over the entire tip?

put some tape around the outside to cover the chrome and paint it. Use a good paint I would also recommend giving it plenty of time to dry and set before running it so you don't have to smell it. I just use a small wire wheel on my dremel to clean out the chunks and sprayed it.

Derry, i bought small can of hi temp satin black engine paint for 3.99 from walmart. Knocked the burrs off where cut was done with a file, gave both tips a shot of spray carb cleaner and wipe with old underware, then wet both down on end and inside pipe with paint, imed. wiped overspray off chrome edge on tip and it was done in 10 minutes and dry in another15.
Set you cobra to 3 / 5 / 0 if no intake mods, use 3.25 / 5.25 / 0.25 if intake openned up.

took a wet cloth and cleaned the tips...have tape and hi-heat spray paint (guess I'll tape off a bit more than just the pipes;)
