I have had it

I have racked my brain, trying to find a decent looking trunk and rack for my bike. I know I can never match the color scheme but I dont want a black one. I dont care if it has a backrest or not, but just want something that looks good and will fit. I went over to Gadgets page and those look great on those bikes. But his 2 links take you to where you can get racks. I need that and a nice looking trunk. I know someone out there has gone through this so can you please help. I am ready to throw in the towel, even the 2 dealers parts guys were idiots that I went to.

Look here http://www.mutazu.com Not top of the line, but I have one and it's holding up pretty good. Lots of color choices (HD colors) too. Get your self a Wompus rack to mount it on, and you're good to go.

Well, ya get what ya pay for. Premeux will fix you up with a matching tourpack. The word around here is that anything less than a Wompus rack is a waste. Other options include bungeeing a milkcrate onto your luggage rack or getting a Tsukayu or Matazu trunk and mounting that onto a Wompus rack. The one on my bike is from Champion Sidecar and is about $800-900 painted to match. I got it from a friend for $200. Also, you could scour eBay for any used trunk and mount it on a Wompus rack.

Bruce's trunk is pretty much as nice as you can buy. He got a really sweet deal on his. I wasn't sure what price range you were looking at. Here's another site: Scootworks Look for their SuperTrunk III. You'll have to get it painted to match, though.

Thank you very much. I got it for $5800. I will have white-wall tires on by tomorrow and will post pics The tourbox is not full-sized like a HD tourpack, but it will still fit lots of stuff and it is very nice to not have to stoop over and unlock the saddlebags every time you need something.

Okay, the tourbox painted to match your bike two-tone colors is $970. Here's another pic of the tourbox for a greeen Nomad;

and here's the page showing the pricing;

I guess you have to do some pricing....Not sure if the tour pack comes with a rack? If not, you can add another 235.00 for the rack. I went with the Mutazu. It had some issues, like I had to re-upholster the wrap around back rest cause it was a joke. All in all though, even with the re-upholstering and buying the Wompus rack, I still got a trunk that fits two 3/4 helmets with face shields and gloves and glasses and some other small stuff and a chrome rack on top for more stuff for the price of $710.00. Granted I didnt have to paint it cause it matched the black on my bike. Overall, I am pretty happy with it and so is the better half so that counts for a lot too..... <G>

My bike has a Venture tour pack on a Wompas rack. Total cost for the whole thing was $75 for the tour pack, $180 for a bare steel Wompas rack, and $200 for paint. I painted it myself. It isn't an exact match, but it works ok for me.

If you want to see a picture, go to the off topic thread titled "My son's first ride" or something like that.

That's it. You can find them on eBay from time to time. I didn't use the Color Rite paint, local attempt at a match, a tad off but it will do for now.
