Don't add anymore than about 4 ounces to the oil Mick, thats all you need in the crankcase.

A couple oz. if fine. Sometimes more is not always better. I read somewhere that seafoam is rather harsh on your fuel system. Personally I would never put it in my oil. If I need to do that something else is wrong. I' don't believe in band-aid fixes. I like my bikes to make it both ways when I ride.

Well you don't want the little fishes pissed off at you do you Tim?
Actually seafoam is supposedly made of only 3 ingredients all petroleum based, 25% Naptha, 60%kerosene and 15% isopropyl alcohol. The Naptha is the cleaner and in that concentration and diluted again in your gas is probably not going to affect sensitive seals or cause pre detonation. Kerosene is to some extent a lubricant and mild cleaner. The isopropyl alcohol is the top quality gasoline antifreeze and absorbs moisture. A half can of this in your gas once in a while will probably have less damaging effect on your motor and seals that the ethanol laced crap you pump in your tank every fill up and in fact combats to some extent the harsh effects of ethonol.

Dave I thought you guys in the US had ethonol in all grades of gas.
Up here we have maybe 10% in reg gas and premium is generally ethonol free. According to the msds sheet, Star tron's main petroleum based ingredient is Naptha and some organic enzymes http://rutherfordcountytn.gov/rm/doc...ditive_000.pdf According to the msds sheet seafoam's Naptha % seems to be less, with pale oil as the the bulk of the mixture and isypropl coming in at a low amount. http://www.sueschauls.com/Seafoam_motor_treatment.pdf

I put it in the oil and run it a few miles before I drain it. Squirt deep creep in each cylinder to get it to the rings when I drain oil. Deep creep is seafoam in a spray can. It keeps the rings free from carbon.

The states vary greatly on ethanol. Here in Missouri, the blending of ethanol is mandatory with the exception of Premium gas which is exempt.

So I guess I'll put a little seafoam in my gas in spring, and a little in the oil towards the end of summer before I drain the oil, cause I just put brand new oil in the bike.
Thanks everyone for the advice!
