Momma wants a convertible

We've been looking for a couple years for a new bodystyle Mustang GT......now that the 2010s are out, I don't care for them as much as the 05 through 09. So she has been very specific on color and likes this light blue thats hard to find....

Ran across this 2005 with 7900 miles on it.....yep..7900....I can't find a used 08 or 09 with that low of mileage. The paint is still new on the door lock strikers and is not worn off.....looked over it pretty good and no paint or body work...literally looks like a showroom car. Already has K&N intake, flowmaster SS exhaust, sequential turn signal kit.....oh, the red pinstripe is gone (that looked out of place to me)

I can get it under 20k......I hate spending money...but seems like a deal hard to pass up....

Somebody talk me out of this :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Okay Todd, here's a compromise: I won't talk you out of buying it, but I propose that you make the purchase and then send it out west to me!
Sweet looking ride. And my wife has always loved Mustangs, so she would love this one!

Okay, can't resist. The convertible top will dry rot in the heat and cost a small fortune to replace. Of course the replacement might not seal properly and you will have a lot of wind noise and possibly some water dripping on you when it rains. Oh that's right, you don't live in the dry heat where it has been between 112 & 117 most of the summer.

As long as "she" picked it out and it was not your idea, there will be no complaints. Should even make it a little easier next time you want something for the Nomad.

Nice car Todd,I think you should get it. It must be a coincidence but just earlier today a neighbours pal showed up in a 08 Shelby GT convertible, black with red stripes. It probably the nicest Mustang Ive seen. He's had it just a year so far and get this, it only has 850 miles on the odometer. 700 last season and the 150 so far this summer.

Todd, your suppose to buy a wife things that they enjoy and are practical. Things that they can use like a stove or a nice Hoover vacume cleaner. ::) I hope I caught you before the damage is done.

As long as it is "Momma" that wants the convertible I say buy it. She deserves it.
If the "Momma wants it" was a smoke screen intended to disguise your repressed muscle-car desires, I say: Dont do it buddy!!!! Your knees will hate the getting in and out part.

Now that Ive tried to talk you out of it as requested, and you've likely ignored that attempt: You didnt have any problem getting it in the garage did you?

Sweet looking ride.

Well, thanks to everyone for their "good" advice :-/ nobody is trying to save me money I see.

Larry, it is for her (but yes, my dream is to still one day own a '69 fastback). I doubt I will drive it much if we get it.

The last car we bought for her was in '98, an Expedition, it now has 187k on it and gets about 13mpg at best. Seems like lately I have been under the hood too much.

We have two kids that have recently turned, or are about to turn 16, we bought them older used cars at 15 and my wife has been driving those until each kid turns 16. Well, the last one is about to turn 16....so thats kinda where I am. ??? ???

So in your driveway you have an Expedition, a car for each of the two kids, your vehicle and a Nomad.
Do people stop to browse thinking you have a used car lot ??? ;)
