Maui ride

Aloha all Kawanow members. Had to get away from the Edmonton winter and high tailed it to Maui for a couple of weeks. Decided it would be sweet to rent a Harley to ride around the island for a few days. Pick the bike up on Friday ( Electric Gluide Ultra), so in the mean time I'm just planning a few day rides for Deb and I. One will be up to the volcano , another to Hana, and maybe down to west side of the island, we'll see. I'll take some pics and post them when I get them. Ma halo

Kevin

I was just going to suggest you get hold of "bubba". And like Steve said don't get hooked/spoiled on the Electra Glide. But do have a good time. Let me know the cost of the rental. "judygirl"
and I have been thinking of making that trip and I'd love to ride a bike there for a day or two.

If you like the Electra Glide, you'll like the Voyager. Very similar rides.

Rick,

Price is not bad for the rental. $129.00 / day with helmets and maps included. Also, three kinds of insurance/ deductible coverage: 0 down and $3000 deductible, $18/day with $2000 deductible and finally $24/day and that gives you $1000 deductible. All of it covers fire, theft, collision and tire repair but no towing. Expensive? maybe, but where else are you going to enjoy such an experience?
As far as getting used to the HD, we'll see, just sitting on it felt cramped compared to the 'Nad. One thing is, being cramped meant the bars are in a real nice position for riding, so good with the bad.

I hadn't ridden a bike in 15 years but a buddy and I did just that in 1998. They didn't even ask if we a had motorcycle license. I was hooked again. In Feb 99 I bought a new Roadking, and then in 2006 I bought a 05 Nomad.
