Headlight modulator installation

I'm trying to install a diamondstar headlight modulator on my '06 Nomad and for the life of me I can't figure out which wires do what for the headlight connection. Can ya help a man out and tell me which one is high beam/lo beam and ground?

Thanks for your help

On the bike High bean wiring color is red with black, low beam is red with yellow. Ground over all the bike is black with yellow.

In order to be of anymore use i would need a copy of the instructions with the unit if that is any part of the problem.

Thanks Mac, you've got me on track now. One thing that was throwing me was the two small (18-22 guage) wires that fed into one spot on the H-4 connector. These are red/black, thus high beam. Out of curiosity, why two wires for the high beam instead of one like the lo-beam and ground are? ???

One goes to the dimmer switch and one goes to the high beam indicator light.

OK I'm getting more clarity now, so for the high beam portion of the modulator, I need to tap into the red/black that comes from the dimmer switch and leave the wire leading to the high beam indicator alone?

I have not installed a head light modulator, only a smart switch that taps into these wires to use the dimmer to control my driving lamps. If you need to tap into the high beam wire, then it really should not matter which one you use as they are both attached together at the headlight plug. If you look near the top of the garage section you will see a post to down load the 1600 shop manual which contains the wiring schematic. You may find this helpful. If you are still a little unsure, post the wiring instructions or diagram as Mac mentioned and one of us on here will help you further.

The one I bought just plugs into the back of the headlight after you unplug it first then plug that one in the back of modulator. takes 1 minute but guess thats the plug n play variety.

Yeah Doc, in hindsight I should have bought the plug-n-play version with the adapter. I advised my son to do just that.
