Fire And Steel Driver's Backrest with Mustang Seat

I have a Fire And Steel Driver's Backrest that works great on my 1500 Nomad when the stock passenger's seat is attached.

However, it doesn't work with my Mustang seat. Therefore, when my wife travels with me, she insists on the Mustang and I take the backrest off.

I read Gaget's recommened modification for the Fire And Steel Driver's Backrest when used with the Mustang seat but I just don't think it will work.

What backrest works the best with a Mustang seat?

My simple guess would be the mustang back rest, if not that then perhaps a grasshopper backrest if the mustang is a 2 piece seat which I believe it is

Probably the Grasshopper. I'm not an authority on backrest though.

Obviously, the Mustang backrest works best with the Mustang seat. However, if you don't want to buy another Mustang seat with backrest ($pricey$), Grasshopper makes one that works with the Mustang seat. He's a member here as well.
