Mustang Seat with Driver Backrest

Considering getting the Mustang Seat with Driver Backrest. Those Nomad owners that have one of these how do you like it and is it really alot better than your stock seat? Please share what you think. If you have any pictures with this seat installed please share them. If you know of anyone looking to sell one of these please let me know. I am looking for the one with the studs and conchos - model # 79350. Thank you.

Mustang Seat with Driver Backrest

I have an ample rear end and the stock seat didn't work for me.I feel like I'm setting in the Mustang and the stock seat made me feel like I was setting on top and it wasn't very comfortable for me.Once you get used to a back rest it is hard to do without it.I have had Mustang seats with the back rest on my last three bikes.I highly recommend them.

Mustang Seat with Driver Backrest

I am 6'2" and 260 lbs.

I have a Mustang seat with back rest. I also use a Airhawk pad. I can go all day with little to no butt pain. The most in one day was 525 miles and still had a good feeling butt!!

The 3 piece Mustang seat was the first thing I bought for my Nomad, right after getting home from my first 250 mile ride on the stock seat. For me, it is a vast improvement over stock.

Here's a photo of it on my 2007:

Mustang Seat with Driver Backrest

My bike had the Mustang seat when I bought it. My previous bike had one also. I didn't have the back rest on my other bike so I bought the one from grasshopper.com, that one was not adjustable whereas the Mustang is. I find the seat to be very comfortable. I would strongly recommend the Alaskan leather sheep skin, it really helps prevent butt burn (monkey butt). I can ride all day with a minimum of discomfort.

Mustang Seat with Driver Backrest

I have had Mustang seats on all of my bikes, including the Nomad that I ride now. This time, I also got the backrest and the combination of the two makes a world of difference...I recommend it. I can ride with absolutely no discomfort at all with the Mustang for 300-400 miles. For rides longer than that, I also use the Airhawk seat pad...that increases the comfort range for me to over 600 miles.

If you get it make sure you get the backrest with it. Mine is an investment worth while for the cost. I plan on adding an Alaska Leather sheepskin later for extra comfort. That being said, some people don't like them and I'd shop around for a used one.

I never thought I would like a backrest, but know that I have one I'll never go back. My only beef with the Mustang seats is how it pushes you forward into the tank. I also have the stock seat, but have never tried it.

Mustang seat is a big improvement over stock. Mine is without the Mustang backrest so I purchased a Grasshopper backrest. The Grasshopper back rest works good but I found that I really did not need it as I do not do long rides.

So, should anyone be looking for a Grasshopper back rest for a Mustamg seat I have one for sale, $70 includes shipping to US.

Stock seat came off with less than a hundred miles on mine and the difference was incredible, Mustang seat with backrest is the best investment I made besides getting the Nomad. I do use a sheepskin pad for longer rides of more than a couple of hours and after 6 hours in the saddle today, totally comfortable!

the same here I like the seat . I was not to sure about the back rest but wouldn't be without it now. The mustang does move you forward on the tanks a little I have done 500+ a couple of times, it's not my recliner, but it's way ahead of the stock seat
