That is a good question- one I can't answer. Somebody chime in here??

The part numbers are different for the 2004 and older. The seats for the 2005 to 2008 Nomads are all the same. There are differences so I do not believe it will fit anything before an '05.

Looks like an '05 or newer. Willl not fit the '04 and below.... ::)

I just checked mustang's website and as strobe said, these will not fit an 04 Nomad. I already have mustang seats on my bike and I love the seats, but I need a backrest. Some say the seats are overrated but I disagree. I find them very comfortable on long trips.

Also disagree on the Mustang being overrated. Love my Mustang seat and couldn't do long trips without it.

Well, the truth is, I have an insatiable desire to try every form of a certain accesory, starting with the least expensive (not that a Mustang is necassarily inexpensive), and moving on up the line. So I've ordered a Russel seat now. After that gets here, I'll probably send it to www.alligatorbob.com and spend some more money on seats.

Seriously, there are things I like about the Mustang, particularly the way you can adjust both the height and the fore/aft position of the backrest without tools, unlilke the CWI backrest I use with the stock seat. And, the backrest is easy to remove, if you don't want to use it, although after having one I can't imagine why a person would want to be without it. And, the backrest folds forward, which makes it a little easier for a passenger to mount/dismount.

My main issue is the seat really isn't any wider (by any appreciable amount) than the stock seat, while the Russel is considerably wider. Russel offers a passenger seat that is a substantial upgrade from what anyone else offers too, which is something I am hoping my wife will appreciate on those longer rides she takes.... which right now is anything more than 20 miles at one time.
