Emergency Breakdown: Need Help
Hopefully someone online can help.
I was riding just a few minutes ago and my 2007 nomad just died. I was coming off the highway and all indicator lights and speedometer went dead. It is parked now but the speedometer is pegged at 120mph and will not move. I have no lights or horn. I cannot start the bike or anything. I just filled the tank but other than this it has been running fine. does anyone have any ideas? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Rocky, Tried to call but you weren't in. Have you tried to unhook the battery to see if the speedometer needle comes back down? Sould like a short somewhere or a main fuse blown.

Brad,
Thanks for your reply. I found the problem. The negative post on the battery snapped off. So the bike just shutdown. Now to find a battery. Been all over our small town and noone carries it. Thanks Rocky |

Check with your local stealer sounds like the did a poor assembly job or they overtightened the screw and cracked the post. I would try and make them replace your battery.

Silence is acceptance. Definitely worth the effort to pursue the warranty claim.

I am headed to the dealer tomorrow and will insist on the replacement. I have only had the nomad since mid-april, so certainly this should not have happened. I install the battery myself and make sure it is done correctly.
Thanks to all for your help |

Latest and greatest
Went to the dealership and he tried charging me $170.00 for a new battery. I told him this was not the manufacturers fault but rather his setup crews fault and after much talking he agreed and gave me a new battery. I cannot believe the nomad battery is only available thru the dealer and what a price. Has anyone else had the same experience with sourcing a battery? |

Emergency Breakdown: Need Help
My battery turned up with one of the lower corners broken open, like the battery was dropped on a corner. acid leaked out of one cell. had trouble starting bike. dealer tried to sell me a battery but I wouldn't bite. Removed it and discovered the break. Replaced free.
