Sheepskin

Happy New Year all. I am considering adding some sheepskin to my Daylong seat for added comfort. What are the pros and cons and is there a particular company that stands out from the rest.
Thanks in advance for your opinions and expertise.

I have a sheepskin that I purchased from a country store in WVa. It was the hole skin that you trim to the size you need. We always used it until we got our Air Hawk seat cushions.

Be sure you get genuine sheepskin, not imitation....I have one with the word "alaska" included in it...very nice...

A company that stands out above the rest in sheepskins is http://www.alaskaleatheronline.com

I have been using one of their long hair sheepskins on my '03 Nomad for several years and wouldn't ride with out it. Warm in the winter and cool in the summer, plus you can wash it. Just don't put it in the dryer!

Be sure to check out Alaska Leather's "Specials" and I heard awhile back that they will give an additional 10% discount with the code: DEADSHEEP It's worth a try.

Yes, you will get a 10% discount from alaska leather if you put DEADSHEEP in the coupon code box.

I just got one of theirs for my passenger seat. It's been too cold to try it out yet but it sure looks good and feels good sitting on it.

I've been riding with a sheepskin for a long time and all positives, can't think of any negatives. Highly recommend one cool in the summer, warm in the winter.

Deadsheep??? ??? Ha!!!

Now... tell me... how does one find out about a "code" like that for a discount?

That just struck me as being hilarious that this company would use "deadsheep". It is probably just part of my sick-humored-mind I guess.

Oh yeah... I don't have a sheepskin... but have always heard positive things about them.

I have used a sheepskin for about 2 years now, I really like mine. The only time it is removed is when we get into a down pour and have to ride for awhile.

My wife and I have had sheepskin seat covers on both our bikes for several years now and they are great. Like Pronghorn said above, makes it a lot cooler in the summer and especially a warmer seat in the cooler weather. Highly recommend one. We got ours from Alaskaleather as well.

I've been riding for about 2 yrs with sheepskin over a propad gel all one unit and I thinks its great. No cons. Plus get that added comfort of gel and the sheepskin too.

This is who I used, 6 different colors, they had free shipping, don't know if they still do, fast delivery, thick pelt, $70. My wife and I like it a lot.

I don't know if one pelt is better than the other but we've been on this one two years, in rain and shine, and it still looks like new.
