Pipes vs Stereo

Just got a 2012 Voyager.

I have some V&H slip-ons on the way.
Right now with stock pipes I can here the stereo just fine.

The question is....Will I be able to here my stereo over the pipes at highway speeds?

The bike has 27500 miles and the stock pipes are broken in so the pipes sound nice.

Thanks in advance...I am glad to have found this forum.

I have a 2010 Nomad with Vance and Hines slip ons and a fairing with stereo. I'm going to go back to the stock pipes. The Vance and Hines are little to loud. I've had them on the bike for about 1000 miles so I gave them a chance. I would prefer to hear the music without cranking up the volume.

I have the V&H slip ons. Since I have a 13 inch shield, I can hear my music up to about 80 - 85 mph, then the wind noise in my ears drowns out the music, not the exhaust.

I'm super happy with the stereo upgrades in the thread below...about $150 well spent. I have V&H Slip Ons and Chucksters BAK

I'm running 4 - 5 inch speakers that are 45 watts RMS each and an Alpine KPT-445U amp and I'm still not happy with the Vance and Hines combo and the stereo. I'm going to try a different stereo amp combination next week. If it doesn't help I'll be going back to stock mufflers.

I don't listen to my stereo much, but my cobras are not that loud.

I have Cobra Tri Ovals on my 2010 Voyager. Definitely more attitude and volume than the stock pipes but not ridiculous. I also installed at Rockford PBR300X2 amp. I've had no issues with the amp contrary to a few others and I have it set for about 30% gain and volume is fine at highway speeds except for the windiest days.

I hate riding with no tunes on. Once in a while I do turn it off to listen to how the engine sounds and just enjoy the hummmmm. But there is nothing better than crossing the 7 mile bridge to Key West listening to Ozzy belt out Crazy Train.

I couldn't put in my 12 hour days in the seat without my tunes.

I was in the supermarket parking lot the other day and heard Elvis coming.
Turns out it was a guy on a Harley trike blasting Elvis to everyone within a half mile
I looked at a lady staring in disbelief and said, I guess he is an Elvis fan
I guess he figured everyone else wanted to hear his tunes

Most of my riding is on the highway. At a parking lot or coming to one the tunes get muted or turned down low.
