May have got my wires crossed?
These 2 large connectors each have 3 yellow wires and are above the bevel gear housing. I disconnected them without tagging them and didn't realize they both had the exact same connection & could be interchangeable. How can I be certain that they are correctly connected? I can't make sense of the wiring diagrams in the manual.
I believe that they may be interchangeable & go to the stator? Just started it to check for leaks and noticed that my FI fault indicator light is staying on but it seems to run fine. But haven't got it all together yet for a road test. 2006 1600 Login or Register to Remove Ads

Inside the left clutch cover, right above the bevel gear housing. They must be interchangeable, I swapped them & no changes but pretty sure I have them as they were originally.
After a little more research, I am pretty sure they are interchangeable and would have just deleted this post but I guess you can't do that after a period of time ? |

Regarding the check engine light, there is a very comprehensive troubleshooting section in the factory shop manual. So easy a caveman could do it.

those are the stator connections. They are interchangeable and shouldn't cause a problem until one goes out or the rectifiers they connect to. common issue is they got hot and melt when resistance builds up. But that's another thread :)

Yup, those are your stator and rectifier connections....
Problem is when your riding, oil vapor/rain water/dirt get into these connections at speed, causing dirty connection, this equals to heat as those stators pump out alot of current. Resistance=heat in a electrical situation. Weather proof connections are the answer.... I just wire them in solid, so, no loose connections....
