I grew up in New Hyde Park. Lived in Queens Nassau and Suffolk. Nassau is my favorite and we are staying in GC

I couldn't afford to go back if I wanted to. Taxes are insane and last time I was there, it's seems like it changed, but there are things I miss, like decent pizza, the ocean and family. For quality of life, Iowa was best, but in terms of government keeping out of your business, AZ is good. There's no perfect place, glad I grew up and lived on LI for 40 years, but I guess once you leave, that's it.

Pizza is important. My brother came up from Pittsburgh and had to have a NY pizza while he was here. Umbertos in New Hyde Park always loved that place. Cost of living is definitely high. I live in a small 1400sq ft cape and taxes are around 10k a year. Ridiculous! If my kids were not on LI I would move. The most annoying thing here is if you want to go for a nice ride off LI you have to pass through the Bronx or Manhattan and that could mean over and hour and a half to go 30miles. Have to pick the right time of day to travel.

I had 2900sq ft in Iowa with quarter acre and my taxes were 4100, but the schools were good and they took care of the roads and other stuff. In AZ, I have 2600sq ft and 1.46 acres and my taxes are 2000 a year (My house in NY was 2100sq ft and the taxes were 5200 in 2002. Now they would have been over 10K). Schools are not so good though. There's a happy medium for sure. The problem here is there are a lot of retirees that don't want to pay anything and it kills the schools and other improvements. I call it niggardly thinking. It's fiscal conservatism taken to an extreme. If and when I retire, I don't know if I'd want to stay here. It's too hot in the summer...I don't miss the cold though. I suppose I could head north to Prescott or Flagstaff or another state that's isn't as cold as Iowa, not as hot as AZ and isn't farcockte like NY.

There's an area of Oregon near the coast that gets in to the high 40's to low 50's in the winter and 70's in the summer.

The coast from Santa Cruz up to Washington is like that. As much as I like the weather in CA, I'll skip it because of the politics and costs. Oregon might make more sense.

What kind of stereo system is on the bike? Is it just stereo or stereo/nav?

No NAV. I use a garmin nuvi with a ram mount. The radio has 4 speakers I switched the front to the 5.25 polks and the rear I left stock as they are very close to the polks in size a weight of magnet. I am with stock mufflers with plugs punched out and can hear stereo o.k. at 80mph.
It has blutooth with my android and a usb that I use with a usb stick. Also I could hook up my phone to a headset if I wanted to answer calls but I don't want to talk while riding.

I was riding toward the pump yesterday on my Vaquero and looked in my rears and notice the front end of a brand new Indian Roadmaster right behind me coming out of nowhere....I cranked up the throttle a little and he was right there with me until we both pulled into the pump and dismounted. Beautiful ride the Indian and the Thunderstroke 111 powerful motor too... he said he had over 30K in the thing.....$$! He loved my Vaquero.

Yes. Mine was $28,000 with tax and everything. The 111 is a beast and I am sure even more so when the Thunder AC and the EJK arrive. I have always been a fan of the Vaquero and you can't beat the Vulcan reliability and the green really stands out when I see them on the highway. I took a chance buying a second year production american motorcycle. I did buy the first year 1700 Vulcan too. So far the RM with 1400 miles is doing o.k. but I did notice a little gunk on my front push rod the was difficult to clean off and now I will monitor it and if it returns I will have to bring back to dealer also heat shields are looking brownish at the top. I will keep riding for the season unless something else pops up but I think it will be visiting the shop at the end of the season. I will see if the AC and ejk cool it off a bit.

Can you swap pipes and do away with the cats? That's what HD riders do to cool things down.
