Bike Wash

I couldn't take looking at my Nomad wearing such nicely pressed silk shirts so today I took it to task.

Stripping seats, windshield, saddlebags off and actually put soap water on the bike for the 2nd time I've owned it. Riding in the rain doesn't count! ;)

After putting some turtle wax soap in the bucket I used a very deep very soft bristle brush and hit every nook and cranny and cylinder fin, cast wheel, pipes everything. Even underneath.

Then I pulled out my 2 gallon bug sprayer (cleaned) and put de-mineralized water in it and rinsed it very lightly until all the soap was off.

Then, took my leaf blower and blew 200mph wind on every inch and got it all dry without touching it. She's all purdy again!!!

That sounds like about as much work as you did ironing your shirts at Custer and Crescent City.

I'm going to have to remove tupperware to get all the bug stuff off. I can't believe the mess. I washed it once and it isn't enough...

I still have a big red smudge on the windshield from the trip back from CC. It's somewhere between lazy and busy with other stuff. . . :-/

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. Gotta wonder what those chemicals designed to remove (emulsify) dirt and road grit do to your skin, eyes, etc..

Finally was able to view the vid of the guy and his wife in the car wash. Just shows you that the nuts don't fall far from the family tree.
