Hello i am mikes son, I'd try uninstalling the printer by following these steps: Start>All Programs>System Tools>Control Panel. once there you will see 10 categories top right one will be Printers and other hardware click this then you will see pick a task you want to veiw installed printers here you will see your printer right click and uninstall it next follow this link and re-install the printer should just be as ssimple as following the on screen instructions. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=183884&prodoid=63091943&infoType=Downloads&detected=yes&platform=OSF_W_7-64

Kawhead's son gave you good advice...
Are you sure you "uninstalled" the printer? Make sure you have.
Where are you accessing the printer download from? A disk? Online? Typically printers either have the file disk, or your Windows software automatically knows where to go to get it.
However, if you go to Epson (or whatever brand printer) and download the printer file and drivers from their site you should be fine (but only if you have completely uninstalled the printer first).
Sometimes, you may need to disable your virus software to download files such as drivers -- depending on your security settings (if set too high). I know, this doesn't make sense, but it has happened before.
Lastly, reinstall your windows operating software. You might have errantly deleted some of the files needed. That shouldn't take too long to do, but you'll need your "purchase codes" to do this. Hopefully you kept them.
Good luck... because if that doesn't work, then looks like you'll need to go to a repair shop... as I am out of ideas.

this is Mike's son again, hers a program to make sure the program to make sure the driver is installed completely and correctly http://www.windowsanswers.net/articles/use-driverupdate now at the end it's going to ask you to download the needed updates but that requires a $30 it's cheaper by that i mean free to just go online and download the driver but when you do i'd download it then disconnect your internet and turn of any security to install (i say disconnect internet so nothing can get on your computer while security is down) some times like mentioned by glwilson security programs mess with installs if this does not work since it is a recent purchase try taking it back to the store and try another printer good luck and keep me posted
